Forest For Mac
Nevermind the OS debate, we would love The Forest to be playable on every platform! That includes Mac and Linux users. With that said, we are a small team and we have to focus right now on one platform at a time. For the time being, I have had success testing The Forest using PlayOnMac on Mac OS X Mavericks. This is not an officially supported way to play the game, and unless you understand that it might not work for you, I don't suggest purchasing the game for just this reason. And I would love to hear more support for a Mac and Linux version.

Well one thing I can say right now as both a pc and mac user, This game could work on mac but is limited to only a working start screen. When you try to start a new game it will get stuck on the loading screen. This is with the use of wine and porting over all of steam.
Payday 2 works if you port over the main steam program and install a few other bits and pieces but the game can tend to crash at times because of limited internet connections or limited processing power so if you try porting over payday 2 on mac, Make sure you have a fast internet connection and powerful computer. (I'm sure you could do this with a mac pro without it crashing too much because of the power it has) Back to the topic, Some other PC only games work as well with some limitations. But however for a logical solution to running pc games on you macbook pro, air or mac pro. I highly suggest just running a bootcamp of windows 7 and installing all of your windows games there on a separate operating system. Bootcamp is a way of allocating a separate partition of your mac hard drive as a windows computer and your mac can startup into that OS. You must have a working product Key of windows 7 or the operating system you wish to run (Which is almost impossible to obtain in windows 7 terms) or go with windows 8.1 which I don't think so Microsoft. Anyway if your looking into this bootcamp idea you might have to go with windows 8.1 so just go the the Microsoft store and purchase a a windows 8.1 install disk with a product key for that and look at this topic on how you can setup a bootcamp computer on mac.
Just follow the steps. (This apple site is a step by step tutorial for OS X 10.8+) (Quick note: Make sure you have a lot os extra disk space cause this is is when you would want to allocate at least 150GB of space for the OS, Games and other things You will do on that while also having extra space on the mac OS. I had to buy a new 1TB hard drive just for this little project) However that's the most stable way to run a game like this on mac.
Unless the Dev's of this game start porting it over to mac. Originally posted by: In all seriousness, not sure why anyone expects macs to be for gaming.

Also with Boot Camp he will have to make sure he has the recommended Hardware requirements as well.
